A website for everyone.

We want everyone to be able to read our menu, find us and send a tea party request. Our goal for this website is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we’ve done

• Every page works with a keyboard, and a “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach.
• Photos of our food and our dining room have text descriptions. Decorative images and video are hidden from screen readers.
• Text and buttons are checked for colour contrast, and pages still work when you zoom in to 200% or make the text bigger.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, the opening video and the scrolling animations are switched off and everything is simply shown. The opening video has no sound, and “Skip intro” stops it at any time.
• The tea party request form has a label on every field and explains what went wrong if something needs fixing.
• We test the site with automated accessibility checks (axe and Lighthouse) and by hand with a keyboard and on phones.

Things we don’t control

Some parts of the site come from other companies: online ordering runs on Toast, the map is from Google Maps, and our social pages are on Facebook and Instagram. We can’t fix problems on those sites ourselves, but we can always take your order or answer your question by phone.
